Mark
Tarbell is the Managing Partner of the The Oven restaurants. He is also the owner of
Tarbell’s in Phoenix (Food & Wine
“Best Restaurant”) and
Tarbell's SouthGlenn, in
Centennial. He earned his culinary degree at La Varenne and
studied wine at l’Academie du Vin (both in Paris). Nominated “Best
Chef – Southwest” by the James Beard Foundation, Mark has cooked at many
special events around the country
and for a stellar
line-up of political, sports, and entertainment celebrities including the
Dalai Lama, Muhammad Ali and Clint Eastwood.
He is a judge for the L.A. County Fair International Wine Competition, the weekly wine columnist for The Arizona Republic and
has been published in Wine & Spirits and
Food Arts. In 2007 Mark's "cuisine reigned supreme" in a battle
against Cat Cora on the Food Network's "Iron Chef America".
